{“Resemblance II continues to enquire into the canons of portraiture via the established 17th century aesthetic conventions. They are staged this time in an Australian context and within  the individuals home rather than a studio. There is a sense of recognition through our  culturally engrained visual memory even though an obvious geographical and historical shift  has occurred, past/ present, north/south. A dialogue is set up between both sets of work,  the first establishing a way of interpreting and understanding the second. “ Full thesis” Pg 16
